About Elizabeth Marcroft

I graduated from University of Plymouth in 2014 and since have been working as a physiotherapist in the NHS. I worked as a rotational physiotherapist for 2 years and then specialised in musculoskeletal outpatients. I did several rotations within in musculoskeletal outpatients and developed a special interest in pelvic health where I now have specialised. In pelvic health I assess and treat patient with ante-natal/postnatal pain, urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, overactive bladder and colorectal problems. I enjoy working with patients and centering care around their goals. Furthermore I find working within a team and adding to and improving the service very fulfilling. I have completed audits, created and edited patient education videos, set up and adapted patient classes, written patient information leaflets and I am enthusiastic and constantly looking help to progress the service I work for. I have worked privately for both musculoskeletal and now pelvic health physiotherapy services. My main skills include- Assessing and treating musculoskeletal pain within antenatal/post natal women - Assessing and treating faecal and urinary incontinence- Assessing and treating increased frequency and urgency - Assessing and treating pelvic pain - Assessing and treating pelvic organ prolapse - Assessing and treating post natal patients as inpatients and out patients - Assessing and treating constipation and difficult defecation - Running classes ranges from ante-natal exercise, pregnancy advice class, post natal advice classes and hydrotherapy classes for antenatal women - Acupuncture for overactive bladder and other musculoskeletal problems - Internal examination to assess the pelvic floor muscles - Organisational skills, organising and starting new services such as an acupuncture clinic - Experience filming and editing educational videos - Experience supervising junior colleague and managing a team
