About Elizabeth McCann

I'm very family oriented in my personal life. I was brought up to respect not only the history of people around me but also, of the significance of handmade gifts. Both my maternal Grandmother (Ge-Ma) and Great-Grandmother (Mom-Mom) were knitters and crocheters. They made baby blankets for the new additions in our family trees. My Ge-Ma and her husband Da-Da were brilliant. They loved arts and crafts. from painting to making individual Tooth Fairy Pillows for the children and intricate dolls for Christmas gifts. I guess you could say the love of art runs in the family. After Ge-Ma and Da-Da went to be with Jesus, a comforting way to keep them feeling closer was to go back to crochet and make new patterns and I finally honed my skill for knitting after finding a class. Being creative with my hands and with my sense of humor gives me a natural high that I can't describe! I love sharing my ideas and expanding into other mediums as I grow in my business. Venjo's Stitches is more than a project, a job, or even a business - it's a part of myself. Each handmade item is a sliver of my personality in handheld form to be passed on to a friend, a child, a parent, or to be held onto and passed on. I love being a part of someone else's story and not just my own. My business transformed into Creative Chaos and now includes painting, broken china art and jewelry, as well as collaborative art with my husband (paintings) and with my Dad (stained glass jewelry and spoon jewlery).
