About Elizabeth Ormes

I am interested in continuing to work in the social service and mental health industry with Trauma-Informed, Cognitive Behavioral, Evidence based counseling treatments. I believe in an empowerment and strengths based approach through helping clients to identify their internal motivations for growth and wellness. I've worked with people with disabilities (visual impairments, epilepsy, developmental disabilities). I have worked with and am comfortable assisting children, youth, adults, and older adults with mental well-being concerns. I enjoy working with people through the whole counseling process; intake; needs/strength assessment; treatment planning; implementation of services; and closure or referrals. I have done individual, family, group counseling, as well as lead trainings and workshops. I have worked for state government agency (Michigan Commission for the Blind), federal government agency (Dept of Veterans Affairs), and non-profit agencies (Epilepsy Foundation, Goodwill Industries, Guardian Angel Community Services).
