Chancellor of Webster University Advancing the mission of a truly global university: ensuring learning experiences that transform students for individual excellence and global citizenship Serving over students at campuses on 4 continents and through robust online programs Webster University completed our year-long Centennial celebration in 2015. In 2019, we awarded degrees to our 100th class of graduates worldwide and welcomed the alum. As one of the few Missouri-based institutions with funding from both the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health, Webster is advancing our capacity to serve STEM students and to support faculty and student scholarship and research. Browning Hall, Webster's new interdisciplinary science building, tripled our number of laboratories. With gratitude to generous donors and strategic partners, we look forward to strengthening students' global experience through enhanced scholarship funding and additional support for academic programs and support to open the world to Webster students. In a ten-year period, Webster's endowment grew by nearly $100 million. Ranked twenty-second among large master's level universities in the Midwest, Webster has been recognized as a “Best for Veterans School,” for innovative study abroad programs, and as a School of Distinction for the quality of online learning and degree programs. For more than two decades, Webster awarded more graduate degrees to African-Americans than any other not for profit public or private university in the United States. In 2020, Webster University was named by St. Louis Graduates as one of the top 5 colleges/universities in the region for black and low-income students to graduate with the least debt. Webster focuses on assuring access and success to improve social mobility and to strengthen the communities where our students live.
