As Editor at SMARInsights, I ensure written deliverables meet the highest standards for our clients. I also support the programming department through editing and testing research surveys. I hold a CITI Program certificate in Social and Behavioral Responsible Conduct of Research. From 2021-2024 I was a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Graduate Research Assistant at George Mason University, where I received an MFA in Fiction Writing in May 2024. From 2017-2021 I was a Technical Writer at Avalon Group.As a Graduate Teaching Assistant at George Mason University, I taught an introductory course to creative writing, an introductory composition course, and an introductory literature course. The teacher-student relationships I developed in my time at GMU were my favorite part of the job.In my Graduate Research Assistant position, I coordinated the annual Creative Writing contest for the AI Institute for Resilient Agriculture (AIIRA), which encouraged young people to consider the ways AI would impact their careers and farming in the future. Additionally, I reviewed and edited prompts for student-lead mock trials that discussed the ethics of AI usage in the agricultural sector.In my time as a Writing Consultant, I helped students and professionals improve their written work by tailoring each consultation to fit specific writing needs. On a daily basis, I reviewed a large body of written material and worked with writers at any stage of the writing process. Joy and laughter are integral to my advising style— I want my clients to know I'm on their team! As a Technical Writer, I was committed to providing a wide range of technical materials, from internal requirements documents to consumer manuals. I have extensive experience with Fortune 500 companies. I am first and foremost a cat mom in pursuit of two extremes: kayaking or reading. Depending on the day, I can spend hours on the water, binge read a book, or wistfully attempt to do both.
