Background
About Elizabeth Wright
I am Neuroscience PhD candidate interested in the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying endosomal dysfunction in neurodegenerative disease. My current project focuses on the role of transmembrane protein 184b (TMEM184B) in endosomal acidification and transport, using a variety of experimental techniques, such as immunohistochemistry, cell culture, primary neuron culture, animal behavior, and super resolution imaging. My goal is to complete my PhD degree by December 2024, and am interested in pursuing a career as a research scientist in industry, where I can apply my expertise in neuroscience and to advance the field and improve the lives of people affected by neurodegenerative disease.
