About Ella Doherty

I am a passionate and driven environmental professional with a B.A. in Biology and Environmental Studies from Wesleyan University, where I was a Dean’s List honoree and a featured student fellow in the Bailey College of the Environment Think Tank. With diverse experience managing sustainability projects, organizing large-scale educational events, and facilitating community engagement, I currently serve as a Sustainability Coordinator for the Campus Compact EnviroCorps in New London, NH. In this role, I create and lead environmental initiatives at Colby-Sawyer College and in the broader community, forging partnerships with over 25 organizations, executing 10+ public events, managing a database of over 50 volunteers, and delivering direct services such as energy efficiency walkthroughs for low-income households. My academic and professional background includes field research, public speaking, curriculum development, and team leadership, with additional teaching, tutoring, and coaching roles that demonstrate my adaptability and communication skills across all age groups. I bring technical fluency in GIS (ESRI ArcGIS Pro), R, and data reporting tools, alongside recognized certifications in both Climate Science and FEMA Disaster Preparedness. My published work, including presentations at environmental symposia and regular community blog contributions, reflects my commitment to accessible, action-oriented environmental education and stewardship.
