Ellen began as a volunteer with TAPS in 1997 and became a staff member serving from 2008 - 2021. She returned to staff in February 2025. She has served as editor of TAPS Magazine, survivor and executive communication, and chat room facilitator. Ellen has contributed to a myriad of TAPS' operations during her tenure, including development, survivor support, and serving as liaison with casualty offices. Ellen was instrumental in the development and growth of TAPS Online Community outreach and served as Mistress of Ceremonies for the TAPS National Seminar for several years. Current focus in data management of extensive database of military survivors and supporters to assist in program management, impact assessment and more.As Operations Director of Panama City Symphony, she played a vital role in community engagement and outreach, supporting the board of directors, staff, and musicians. She fosters donor and patron stewardship and oversees logistical aspects of the symphony’s events and programming. With a diverse background in the non-profit and financial sectors, Ellen’s experience in customer service, operations, development, relationship building, program management, and public speaking have brought enhanced operational efficacy to the symphony.She has served as a Loaned Executive and Company Campaign Leader for the United Way of Northwest Florida, volunteered with the Northwest Florida Chapter of the American Red Cross, and has been an enthusiastic participant in numerous community events in Bay County. For her work with surviving military families, she received the Thomas G. Carroll Outstanding Service Award from the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors. Ellen’s writing skills have been showcased in national publications and was invited by former Congressman Jeff Miller (FL District 1) to contribute to special constituent messages.A Panama City, FL native, Ellen attended Gulf Coast State College with focused studies in Journalism and History. Away from work, she has completed 10K events at the Marine Corps Marathon in Arlington, Virginia and events in the local area and is an avid sports fan.Non-profit experience (communications, development, internal operations, and program management.
