Hi my name is Ellen! I currently work as an Associate in the Europe and Central Asia division at Human Rights Watch, where I engage in research, writing, proofing, and editing of materials focusing on Eastern Europe and Central Asia. I also work as a volunteer interpreter with the CBST asylum clinic, interpreting orally and in writing between Russian and English, and supporting applicants with the asylum application. I am a Fulbright Scholar and graduate of Russian and Political Science at Notre Dame with a strong interest in pursuing human rights work. I have taught English in both Ukraine and Russia, to college students and small children, and also have experience as a TA for an intermediate political science course at Notre Dame. I have lived and worked in Russia and am fluent in the language. I have been a managing student partner for a non-profit organization. I was featured in a short film project run jointly by Notre Dame and NBC.
