About Ellen Brooks

Armed with a background in tech and with start-ups, Ellen Brooks is the Chief Operating Officer for FIG Real Estate and is responsible for office administration, accounting and finance, project management, business development and marketing. She began her career in strategic planning with Compaq Computer Corporation and Hewlett Packard focusing on mergers and acquisitions and new business development but discovered she had a real passion for start-ups when she joined Ashford.com. As Director of Strategic Planning and Investor Relations at Ashford.com, Ellen had the opportunity to learn first hand about building a company and taking it public. With her start-up experience and education in engineering shaping her perspective, Ellen brings a level of professionalism, strategy, problem solving and attention to detail to every aspect of her work at FIG. The Houston Heights has been Ellen’s home for 30 years. She has seen a quiet, eclectic neighborhood grow and evolve into the bustling destination for shopping, eating, events and living that it is today. Great stories, the best neighbors and an easy four block commute to FIG headquarters will keep her in the Heights for years to come.
