Working closely with the Lab General Manager and Lab Administrator utilizing supervisory skills to plan, direct, coordinate and control activities of employees engaged in manufacturing. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Main Responsibilities/Main Tasks • Directly supervises employees in pre-production, stock, shipping departments. • Maintain departmental schedules by coordinating employees, equipment, and customer demand to expedite work flow. • Inspects work in progress to ensure conformance to quality standards. • Enforces safety regulations to employees. • Analyzes and resolves work related problems, or assists employees in solving work related problems. • Plans and directs the employee training required to stay abreast of new product introduction. • Complete employee performance review/evaluations and recommends salary revisions. • Participate and provide input into the budgeting process. Monitor departmental spending. Control department labor and supply expenses. • Reviews and analyzes DVI, Audit, breakage and key indicator reports to determine cause of quality or production issues. Knowledge and understanding of the following areas: • Raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods • Business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods and coordination of people and resources. • Motivation, developing and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job. • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
