About Ellen Horspool
I have worked in the AOD sector for the past 15 years in a variety of roles including residential and community based. My greatest achievements in this sector were leading the change in the Kedesh, person centred care model, through managing the Community Access Centre and fostering local partnerships. I have also contributed as a member of the NADA policy working group and have played an integral role within the Shoalhaven illawarra suicide prevention collaborative since 2019, most recently contributing to the creation of the safeside AOD training module. I now work for COORDINARE, to support our community Collaboratives, elevate lived experience of suicide perspectives and foster connections for collective impact within our region. Having worked extensively with people experiencing psychosocial stress and complexity of needs, I am passionate about suicide prevention with the AOD sector along with quality improvement initiatives and systemic change projects.
