About Ellen Kaastrup

Ellen Kaastrup is a chemical and environmental engineer with strong leadership, strategic planning, proposal writing, and technical skills. She has extensive experience with all phases of RCRA and CERCLA, including addressing complex groundwater issues, emerging contaminants, and innovative technologies, and incorporating sustainable and resilient practices. Her experience also includes nonhazardous and hazardous waste management. Dr. Kaastrup is a subject matter expert (SME) on emerging contaminants and, as such,an active member of the Interstate Technology and Regulatory Council (ITRC) PFAS and Remediation- Communities as well as the ITRC Microplastics Community. She is the president of Kaastrup Consulting, LLC, a certified Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB), and has more than 30 years experience with large firms, serving in management roles on programs such as the NAVFAC Southwest Remedial Action Contract, the Kuwait Oil Company Waste Management Contract, and the Rocky Mountain Arsenal RI/FS through remedy implementation and development of long-term planning documents. Past corporate leadership roles include Engineering Manager, Sustainability Manager under ISO 14001:2015, and PFAS SME.
