About Ellen Kahn

Ellen studied Music at Indiana University, and then danced professionally with the Chicago Dance Medium and the Evanston Concert Ballet, performing throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. Dance prompted an interest in all forms of movement, including ballet, jazz, gymnastics, aerobics, stretching.and Pilates, leading to in-depth studies of this elegant and effective form of exercise/physical movement. Ellen studied Pilates under many different teachers with varying styles, and ultimately earned formal certification through the Pilates Method Alliance. For more than 30 years, Ellen has taught Pilates, incorporating various forms of movement into all facets of her instruction, nurturing a vast network of loyal students. Outside of the Pilates studio, Ellen enjoys hiking and time with her family.
