About Ellen Kuhnert

Ellen is a proven Senior Healthcare Executive with vast experience in Hospital Operations and Strategic Workforce Planning, Management and Utilization. After many years, caring for patients at the bedside in prestigious facilities such as Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Kuhnert moved into leadership roles within various healthcare organizations in California. Her expertise includes serving as Chief Nursing Officer and Assistant Chief Nursing Officer for Tenet Healthcare facilities, where she was responsible for overall labor productivity and staffing. Before that, she was Director of Pediatric/Neonatal and Burn Services at Western Medical Center, Santa Ana, where she led the units through successful licensing and regulatory certification surveys. Ellen then led the Western region of the Workforce Management division for Broadlane/MedAssets, which provided comprehensive workforce management for over 100 acute care facilities including renowned academic institutions like UCSF Medical Center for ten years. Following that Kuhnert moved into a Vice President role for US Nursing/Fastaff, where she led the business development team. The company experienced impressive growth doubling in size, and revenue in just three years. Currently, Kuhnert is the Chief Nursing Officer for Orange County Global Medical Center, a 282 bed trauma center in Santa Ana, CA. Kuhnert completed her Doctorate in Nursing Practice-Executive Leadership at the University of San Francisco in May 2018. The area of focus for her Doctoral work was workforce planning/management and transformation. Moreover, Ellen received the Dean's Medal for Promoting Professionalism. Ellen also holds an MBA and a BSN from Mount Saint Mary's University in Los Angeles.
