About Ellen Mane

My name is Ellen Bokkinga, also known as poet Ellen Mane. For over 20 years, I have worked with cultural/academic institutions, agencies, CEOs, brands, entrepreneurs, young professionals and startups. I have gained interdisciplinary research/concept/writing/strategy experience on-the-ground in various fields in transition, including arts & culture, urban development, technology, design, sustainability and the creative industries. In 2022, I returned to university to refocus my academic exploration on the intersection of language,'agency', and culture. My research centers on a relational conceptualization of human and non-human agency (potential for action). Expertise: • Cultural analysis, strategy, and writing at the intersection of culture, language, social imagination and individual, and collective agency. • Currently, I am writing my master's thesis on the politics and poetics of agency, and how to mobilise it. Exploring which alliances, interventions and worldviews pursue 'agency for all'(human/non-human). • Poetic interludes during lectures and workshops to spark social imagination and mobilise agency.
