About Ellen McAulay
I am a Mental Health Nurse, working in Older Adult Acute Psychiatry. I recently graduated from Edinburgh Napier University (Bsc) in Oct 2022. I also have nearly 10 years of experience working within the NHS already - from Catering and Hospitality to Administration & Reception work. I also have previous experience working in a care home prior to completing my access to nursing course. Furthermore, I am a fully qualified Makeup Artist based in the Scottish Borders/Edinburgh area. I qualified at HND level in Theatrical Makeup Artistry from Edinburgh College in 2017. I have perviously worked as a resident makeup artist at Brewhemia, Edinburgh. Where I was involved in the creative process of getting performers ready to go on stage, including makeup, hair/wigs, accessorising & any special effects that were required. I worked alongside another makeup artist at this job and learned a great deal of skills from her. I now do freelance work alongside my full time position as a staff nurse in mental health, and usually range from weddings and occasion makeups to special effects & character makeup for Halloween & parties.
