Data visionary, data enthusiast, and intrapreneur, Ellen is a Chief Systems Architect in the Data Platform (former Data Product Development) at Visa, with over 25 years of extensive global IT architecture and leadership experience in the enterprise data management space, creating value for the company, customers and partners. With an innate ability to grasp complex concepts, supplemented by intuition and comprehensive mathematical education, she offers a powerful balance of vision and ability to execute that has consistently yielded superior results. Ellen designed and implemented several VLDB systems at Visa, and was responsible for direction, guidance and oversight of the EDW in Data Platform, from capacity planning, architecture and design to implementation and data governance. She possesses in-depth operating experience in building and managing large-scale data systems, and working with diverse Business partners & global technical teams in matrix organizations. Specialties: designing and building large scale data-centric system architectures As an Architect and Tech Lead, designed and lead the team focused on the development of encryption services/APIs for application level encryption of data-at-rest, supplemented by extensive libraries to consume and work with encrypted data. The latest work and focus is on the data de-identification.
