About Ellen Scott

During my short time as a social worker I have had the ability to explore many different avenues of social work. I began as an intern in the Florence Alabama city school systems followed by my time at JBSMHA. While at JBS, I trained as an intern on an In-Home team for families who were at risk of losing their children due to mental and behavioral problems. I then started my “official” social work career as a LMSW, also at JBS where I was a case manager in the Jefferson county school system followed by being an In-Home team leader. I later transitioned to UAB hospital, where I worked on two ICU’s, one of which is a long term unit. Currently, I am the oncology social worker at the Birmingham VA. I have grown so much as a social worker due to the different in jobs and I’m so grateful to each one.
