About Ellen Stelloo

I have 8 years of experience in academic research and nearly 5 years in the commercial biotechnology sector, specializing in oncology, molecular diagnostics, and next-generation sequencing (NGS). During my PhD, I contributed to cancer research by refining risk stratification through genomic profiling. In my postdoc, I developed patient-derived organoid models for personalized drug testing and used single-cell sequencing to study chromatin errors during mitosis. Then, I transitioned into industry to apply my expertise towards innovative solutions. Currently, as Head of Assay and Product Development at Solvias NL and a member of the management team, I lead a group of 6 scientists in designing and validating NGS-based methods for quality control of cell line development and cell and gene therapy products, in line with GMP guidelines, within an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory. I am performance-driven and take responsibility seriously, aiming to deliver high-quality results. I prioritize focus and fairness while fostering collaboration and trust within my teams. Guided by curiosity, I continuously seek to learn and improve.
