About Ellen Vloothuis

I am an open-minded and adventurous Cultural Anthropologist and Elementary Teacher with an adaptive and venturous work ethic, seeking for a career where I can develop ideas and expand my broad interest in humanity and society. Based on my specialization in anthropology of mobility, cultural diversity & awareness and education, my key strengths include- Able to plan a program of study that meets individual’s needs, interests, talents and abilities- Ability to guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals- Skilled in establishing clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and other activities- Experienced in encouraging, modeling and enforcing social and intercultural awareness of people- Capacity to scientifically examine organizational cultures with regard to political changes. People in my professional network characterize me as a flexible, open-minded, accessible and adaptive learner with strong social skills. I feel comfortable in intercultural context, as it is a great challenge to make connection between the familiar and unfamiliar, or, the usual and unusual. From my perspective making connection between differences or contrasts, expands and gives meaning to my worldview in which awareness of self and other increases. Within my job, I intend to improve myself both professionally as well as personal – looking for a transparent and encouraging organization that is close society and its diversity.
