Since March 2024 I have been living on a remote Scottish island and working at an award-winning distillery, the Isle of Raasay Distillery. Previously a seasonal General Assistant, I have now begun a permanent position as a Customer Service Assistant. I am responsible for all customer service matters as well as our cask programme, and assist our sales team. Previously, I was involved in numerous aspects of the distillery, including bar work, front desk, restaurant and housekeeping. I am now taking my direct experience with our customers and applying it to my new position, with the aim of providing excellent customer support. This will be across various channels including D2C, trade, and wholesaler. I also assist our sales team through managing our inbox and putting through saes orders. I also lead our Na Sia cask programme including cask sales, as well as organise the bottling of our 30L casks. Prior to joining the distillery and following graduation, I spent 9 months traveling around Scotland and Ireland doing Workaways, where I worked on numerous farms/crofts, a fishing boat, and glamping sites. The aim of this was to gain real-world skills and experience and reconnect with people and places after a long stretch in higher education. My education consists of a Bachelor in International Studies and an Erasmus Mundus Master in Security, Intelligence and Strategic Studies. I specialised in Latin American security, intelligence as a practice, and policing. My dissertation project revolved around the militarisation of the Mexican Guardia Nacional. I have skills in OSINT, the writing of intelligence briefs, and threat identification and analysis. I have also gained experience in editing and qualitative research.
