About Ellie Maher

Senior Marine Consultant specialising in marine environmental planning for large-scale offshore developments including offshore wind farms, interconnectors, and ports and harbours. I provide specialist support for early project development, the consenting and planning process, and maintenance and decommissioning of assets. Over the course of my career, I have gained wide range of skills including an excellent understanding of marine ecology and the functioning of coastal, estuarine and marine ecosystems and the application of policy through consented projects. Additionally, I have developed specialisms in survey design and planning (benthic and fisheries), Marine Licence application, EIA and HRA, compensation development, spatial data and GIS management and technical report production. All of my skills have been developed through primary involvement in multi-sectoral projects within the public and private sectors. My field experience includes the technical design, planning and undertaking of intertidal and subtidal surveys. This is inclusive of conducting Phase I and II habitat surveys, collecting trawl and grab samples and employing drop down video techniques. I am highly experienced in the acquisition of necessary licences, dispensations and permissions which is underpinned by a thorough knowledge of marine and coastal operations in British waters.
