Get to Know Me! Hello! I'm Ellie Wright, though, to my students, I'm Miss Wright! I'm excited to share a little about my journey, my values, and what drives me as an educator. As a dedicated Physical Education teacher, I work to create an inclusive and inspiring environment where students feel empowered to engage in sport and physical activity for life. I truly believe that every student has the potential to reach their personal best, and I design energetic, student-centred lessons that meet diverse needs while staying grounded in current educational best practices. Mental health awareness is a cornerstone of my teaching approach. I actively integrate mindfulness and emotional well-being into my curriculum because I see firsthand the powerful connection between physical activity and mental health. Teaching PE is not just about fitness; it's about building resilience, self-belief, and well-rounded growth. Beyond the classroom, I lead the Netball program at my school, where I focus on promoting teamwork, leadership, and perseverance. Netball is more than just a sport to me; it’s a vehicle for character development, confidence-building, and collaboration. I'm proud to mentor students both on and off the court. I hold a PGCE in Secondary Physical Education with QTS from the University of East London and a BA(Hons) in Physical Education from the University of Brighton. Most recently, I’ve completed my NPQ in Leading Behaviour and Culture, which has further strengthened my leadership skills and deepened my understanding of how to create positive, behaviour-focused school environments that support learning and growth for all students. Here on LinkedIn, I aim to share insights, challenges, and victories from the world of PE and education. Whether I’m highlighting a student success, reflecting on tough days, or sharing practical strategies, my purpose is to connect, inspire, and support fellow educators.
