About Elliot Barton
In the early stages of my career, I was fortunate to have had a variety of experiences that prepared me for the next phase of my professional development. I grew up playing team sports including most of the traditional ball and stick options. Hockey became the focus, and I learned lifelong lessons about competition, teamwork, and leadership.After high school, I worked as a caddie at Sand Valley, a luxury golf course and resort. There I found my love for the client service process, and, of course, golf. Successful professionals from all walks of life including finance, real estate, and others were generous with their advice and knowledge. These experiences further refined what success would mean in my life.During college, my retail job in the outdoor industry revealed an ability and passion to optimize. I loved the discovery process of listening to customers lay out their vision for success and pain points they had experienced. My natural interest in the space lead to deep product knowledge, so the sales process was natural once I understood the customer's needs. Again, I found myself enjoying client relationships, technical sales, and being an optimized solutions provider. My formal education at a technical college taught me basic electronics, mechanical maintenance, and industrial operations. This expanded my skillset and gave me an opportunity to work in the trades expanding my technical knowledge through hands-on experience. The sales aspect of the job was always my favorite. I loved meeting with customers and getting an understanding of how to better serve their needs. Outside of work, I was flipping dirt bikes on Facebook and getting repetitions in negotiation and sales. As I progressed in the trades and earned disposable income, I found a new interest that developed during my days as a caddie: investing. I have been independently studying business and learning the skills of financial analysis. I also began taking flight lessons towards my private pilot’s license. My knowledge of aviation adds another component of technical understanding.After a few years in the trades, I started looking for my next challenge which lead me to pursue a degree in the engineering field. Today, I am confident that I can be a solutions provider in a wide range of industries. My natural curiosity and quick learning will allow me to help in any sales process, big or small.
