Background

About Elliot Hockley

I began my career straight out of college, joining an SME as an apprentice where I produced Bills of Quantities primarily for tendering contractors. This hands-on experience gave me a solid foundation in construction methodology and the precision required to price schemes accurately across a wide range of sectors. I then moved to Currie & Brown, working on higher education projects across the Midlands. This role deepened my expertise in both pre- and post-contract quantity surveying services and broadened my understanding of client-side consultancy. After Currie & Brown, I joined RLB as a Senior Quantity Surveyor. While seconded to Coventry City Council, I contributed to their pioneering Very Light Rail Scheme and delivered multiple school projects. I was promoted to Associate and later led a team of Quantity Surveyors at the University of East London, overseeing their capital works programme. Today, I’m proud to serve as Operations Director for a young, ambitious consultancy expanding its Midlands presence across Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Building Surveying, Planning, Sustainability, and Utilities. We work with a diverse range of public and private sector clients, delivering impactful solutions across multiple industries. Outside of work, I’m a busy parent to two energetic young kids—who keep me just as challenged and inspired as my professional life.
