About Elliot Mathis

Hello! My name is Elliot, and I engage in science-based psychological research surrounding close human relationships, informing my future as a couples therapist. Upon graduating with BAs in Psychology and Peace & Justice Studies from Chapman University Spring 2025, I will continue my education this fall at the University of La Verne, joining their 2030 Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) cohort. I am passionate learner with a vast interpersonal skillset that has lent me opportunities to work and connect with children, adults in crisis, individuals with developmental and neurocognitive disabilities, and the wider world around me. I am certified through my Peace and Justice major in mediation and non-violent conflict resolution, and have had opportunities to help facilitate a local 501(c)(3), Sandy Feet Initiative. I assist my professors as a teaching assistant in Intro to Clinical Psychology and Human Sexuality, and conduct independent research with faculty in tandem with my studies. At Chapman, I have had experience in an administrative assistant position as well as coordinating my University's food pantry resource for the food insecure population on campus. I look forward to furthering my education and expanding my breadth of experiences!
