About Elliott Gall

I am scientist/engineer currently conducting research in the fields of air resources engineering, indoor air quality, and building sustainability. We spend the vast majority of our time in buildings, and as such, I am interested in the interaction of urban air pollution, indoor air quality and comfort, and human exposure to air pollution. I hope to investigate these issues under the backdrop of the need to reduce the energy demand of buildings and address them through the design and implementation of energy efficiency measures that also reduce our collective exposure to airborne pollutants. I received my Ph.D. from the University of Texas in May of 2013 while conducting investigations of heterogeneous reactions of gaseous pollutants with surfaces in the indoor environment. This research developed new approaches to characterizing and modeling pollutant/material interactions, and supports a broad research goal of of improving indoor air quality while reducing the energy burden of the built environment by identifying novel pollutant removing materials that purify air while consuming little or no energy.My website can be found at Indoor air quality, Air pollution fate and transport, Indoor surface chemistry
