Background
About Ellis Leblanc
Since graduating from a master's program at the University of Chicago in 2022, I have worked as a Collections and Registrar Assistant at the Smart Museum of Art, a freelance art handler at The Art Institute of Chicago, and as a contract registrar and art handler for private and public institutions. These various roles has deepened my professional interest in stewarding art collections and exhibitions while ensuring industry best practices are followed for their care so that artworks can be seen by anyone who wants to. I currently work for the American Federation of Arts as a Registrar for Traveling Exhibitions. It is vital to me that exhibitions be accessible as educational spaces and working behind the scenes to ensure the longevity and care of the artworks while following industry best practices allows for the continued sharing of exhibitions.
