About Ellyce Thomas

Hi! I’m Ellyce (ee-lease), a dedicated 29-year-old professional passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and communities, particularly those with special needs. I’m actively seeking opportunities in the social change sector, where I can apply my skills in leadership, coordination, communication, and relationship-building to drive positive impact. From a young age, I’ve been committed to leadership and service. I was elected class president in 5th grade and was a key member of my high school track team. My family’s move to Amarillo, Texas in 2011 marked the beginning of my involvement with Girl Scouts, where I learned the value of community, service, and philanthropy. Winning the title of Miss Juneteenth 2011 gave me the chance to showcase my talent and passion for humanitarian work through a self-scripted stand-up comedy skit and a focus on giving back to others. After graduating from Amarillo High School in 2013, I began my studies at West Texas A&M University and later transferred to Tulsa Community College, where I am set to graduate with an Associate of Science in Sociology. A year ago, I participated in the ACT House Build Day competition, where my team placed second in the pitch competition. This experience allowed me to further develop my leadership, communication, and team-building skills while thriving in a competitive and high-pressure environment. In addition to my academic pursuits, I currently serve as the Workout Coordinator for the Tulsa Girls Social Club. In this role, I am responsible for creating event flyers, organizing events, and building meaningful relationships with local businesses to further our community’s goals. I am eager to apply my expertise in coordination and my passion for working with children to make a lasting impact in the social change sector, particularly in areas related to youth development and special needs advocacy. I am excited to explore new opportunities where I can grow professionally while making a tangible difference in the lives of children and young people.
