About Elmar Eisemann

Elmar Eisemann is a professor in Computer Science, chair “Computer Graphics and Visualization”, heading the group of the same name at Delft University of Technology since 2012. Before, he was an associate professor at Télécom ParisTech (ENST)/ CNRS-LTCI and a senior researcher and group leader in the Cluster of Excellence (MMCI) at Max-Planck-Institute and Saarland University (until 2009). He was Normalien at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris (2001-2005) and received his PhD from the University of Grenoble at INRIA Rhône-Alpes (2005-2008). He spent several research visits abroad; at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2003), University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (2006), and Adobe Systems Inc.(2007,2008). Elmar Eisemann worked and published in rendering, visualization, interaction, perception, and other domains, such as vision, and computational photography. He first-authored the book “Real-Time Shadows” published by CRC Press/AK Peters. He participated in various committees and editorial boards, was local organizer of the Eurographics Symposium on Rendering (EGSR) 2010, 2012, and High Performance Graphics 2012. He was paper chair of High-Performance Graphics 2015, Eurographics Symposium on Rendering 2016, Graphics Interface 2017, and he is the general chair of Eurographics 2018. In 2011, he received the Eurographics Young Researcher Award.
