About Elnerine Greeff

Marketing lecturer | Academic consultant | Expert in strategic corporate communication, EDI, branding and digital marketing. With over 16 years of academic and marketing consulting experience, I specialise in blending academic research with practical industry solutions. Currently, I serve as the Deputy Programme Leader for the Doctor in Business Administration (DBA) at Derby Business School, where I also guide future business leaders in navigating the complexities of modern markets through various programmes. Recent work My current research explores strategic corporate communication, employer branding, and Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), with a focus on how inclusive marketing can enhance both internal and external organisational relations. I have led several funded research projects with partners including Meta (Facebook), Save the Children International, and the National Research Foundation. I am leading a potential Research Excellence Framework (REF) Impact Case study on Enterprise Education in Developing Contexts, evaluating the effectiveness of education programmes designed to foster entrepreneurial skills in underdeveloped regions. This work builds on my commitment to impactful research that addresses global education challenges. I also lead modules on the Government’s Help to Grow Programme and the Enscite Programme, where I contribute to initiatives aimed at supporting SMEs through improved branding, marketing, and strategic business development. Previous experience I began my academic career at North-West University, lecturing in Marketing Communication and Advertising before moving to the University of South Africa (Unisa), where I spent over a decade as a lecturer and later as an Associate Professor. My tenure at Unisa saw me involved in numerous high-impact projects, including establishing the accelerated Doctoral support programme for its College of Graduate Studies. In 2021, I achieved the status of Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), following my recognition as a Y-rated researcher by the National Research Foundation in 2017. Based on my contributions to the South African Communication Association (SACOMM), I was instated as Vice President of the association in 2017 and President in 2019. I have also held positions in marketing consultancies, working as a marketing account manager and consultant, primarily focused on market and consumer research.
