About Elsa Carrillo

My name is Elsa Carrillo, I am a Public Health Professional currently residing in the Charlotte Metro area. I received my Bachelors in Sociology and Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2017, my Community Health Worker Certificate from Asheville-Buncombe College in 2023, and as of 2023 I am also a certified QPR Gatekeeper Suicide Prevention Trainer. I consider myself a lifelong learner. My past and current professional experience includes being a Community Health Educator, an Administrative Manager at a Counseling Center, a High School Teacher, a Corporate Human Resources Assistant, working for my county’s Public Health department as a Health Educator and Program Coordinator, and most recently as a Level 2 Home Study and Post Release Case Worker. Each position I have had I have been able to learn a great amount not just from the role I am in, but also the company and people I work with. Being able to fluently speak English and Spanish means I can help my community all the more. I am also able to understand and speak some Portuguese. My passion lies on learning to help my community where needed. I enjoy coming up with efficient solutions to problems and presenting it in a creative and practical way. My forte's include communication, adaptability, public speaking and teaching.
