About Elsa Maxwell
As founder of Shift Intercultural Education, I help organizations increase their intercultural leadership capacity by providing high-impact professional development, coaching, and curriculum development services. I specialize in facilitating comprehensive programs that provide participants with sustained opportunities to practice and apply culturally adaptive skills. I have 20 years experience working as a global educator, interculturalist, and scholar-practitioner. As a global educator, I worked for the Council on International Educational Exchange from 2004-2017 in a variety of roles, including Assistant Resident Director and Academic Director of Intercultural Learning. As a faculty member, I have taught Spanish, Latin American and Afro-Caribbean studies at the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez (Chile); the University of Minnesota; and Colorado College. I've also facilitated COIL and Virtual Exchanges in the Americas. Based in Chile for 16 years, I now spit my time between Duluth, Minnesota & Salt Lake City, Utah.
