A committed Senior Lecturer with over 30 years of experience at leading UK academic institutions teaching and supporting UG & PG students from diverse social & cultural backgrounds. Possessing excellent leadership, administrative, verbal communication & written skills along with innovative, constructive & effective teaching & assessment methods that promote a stimulating inclusive learning environment. Efficient in a managerial role, able to lead a team productively & having the proven capacity to successfully work to tight schedules and deadlines. I am a French native speaker who has lived in the UK for over 30 years. I have a PhD in Sociolinguistics from QMUL, a Maîtrise in Linguistics & a Licence in English Language, Literature & Civilisation with Français Langue Etrangère from the Université Charles De Gaulle, Lille I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy & an accredited reviewer since 2016 (I am a member of a QMUL panel which awards HEA Fellowship at D1 (Associate Fellow), D2 (Fellow) and D3 (Senior Fellow) levels). I am currently Senior Lecturer in French Language Studies in the Department of Modern Languages & Cultures in the School of the Arts at Queen Mary University of London. Before that, I was Lecturer & Coordinator in French Language Studies for 8 years & a French Language Instructor for 6 years. I also worked in other leading British HE institutions: as a Visiting Lecturer at RHUL for 3 years, as a Language Assistant at KCL for 5 years & at RHUL for 3 years, as a Language Tutor at RHUL in the Language Centre for 2 years & at the University of Essex for 1 year and as a Lectrice at the University of Leeds for 1 year. I also work as an External Examiner at the Open University & at the University of Surrey and have done so at Imperial College too. This considerable experience means that I have developed an expertise in curriculum review & development and in teaching French language, linguistics, translation & culture to different audiences, at different levels & in different structures. It has made me versatile, highly adaptable & extremely knowledgeable about various pedagogical strategies & methods, about managing a team of teachers and working collaboratively & efficiently together, about leadership, collaboration & collegiality but also about the reality of academic life in the Humanities & the many challenges our sector faces.
