Background
About Emanuela Jacchetti
Emanuela Jacchetti s graduated in Physics at Università degli Studi in Milan and she completed her Ph.D. in Physics, astrophysics and Applied Physic with the thesis entitled “Differentiation and cytoskeletal protein dynamics of PC12 cells cultured on nanostructured titanium dioxide surfaces” in 2009, at the same university. She worked on the LIMONTE founded project: “Characterization of cytoplasmic calcium kinetics induced in human Mesenchymal Stem Cell”, at Istituto di BioFisica-CNR and Centro di Biotecnologie Avanzate in Genoa. From 2010 to 2014 she worked as Post Doc researcher at NEST, Scuola Normale Superiore, in Pisa to “Design and develop micro/nano-structured substrates for cell differentiation” and at Istituto di BioFisica -CNR, Pisa, studying the s”Spectroscopic characterization of photochromic fluorescent protein and their use in high spatial resolution microscopy, applied to cell systems”. From October 2014 to October 2015 she was employed at San Raffaele Scientific Institute, on the research title “Development of high resolution microscopy for imaging and tracking individual transcription factors”. Now she is assistant professor at Politecnico di Milano to work on the Prof. Manuela Raimondi’s ERC Consolidator Grant: “NICHOID - Mechanobiology of nuclear import of transcription factors modelled within a bioengineered stem cell niche”. Her main interests are cell mechanics and nuclear mechanotransduction and their visualization with optical microscopy techniques. Research topics Her research is focalized on the meccanobiology such as the mechanical process, that govern cell morphology and functions (like migration or stem cell differentiation), as well as on the protein diffusion and localization. She has a strong experience in the fields of innovative cell scaffold and fluorescence microscopy.
