About Ember Ward

Community is not only a noun, community is a verb. I started my advocacy journey in local politics, managing a California State Assembly campaign at the age of 19. Raising over and engaged with voters, paving the way for subsequent roles as a finance director, deputy campaign manager, and campaign manager for US Congressional campaigns. Overall, I raised over and connected with hundreds of thousands of voters. In addition to running campaigns, I ran as a delegate to the California Democratic Party. As the top vote-getter on our progressive slate, I secured a leadership position on the Executive Board and served on the Finance Standing Committee and Co-Chaired a committee for delegate election reform. I also organized LGBTQ+ education trainings and represented nonbinary activists as a national delegate to the DNC. Transitioning to the non-profit sector as a Community Organizer, I applied my grassroots experience in organizing around social justice issues, mentoring LGBTQ+ youth, and leading workshops and coalitions. Since then, I've expanded my professional experience in non-profits, serving in roles such as Operations Management and supporting leadership in Community Engagement, Organizing, and HIV Prevention. My strengths lie in inspiring leaders, teams, and communities to find their voice and vision through strategic planning and creative advocacy campaigns. As a workshop facilitator, I draw on my professional and lived experiences to educate others on topics such as LGBTQ+ advocacy, youth development, leadership development, neurodivergent accessibility, psychology/mental health, HIV prevention, and sexual health education. Other key skills include: analytical skills, data analysis, program management, social media marketing, organizational development, business planning, CRM management, digital organizing and marketing.
