About Emely Sanchez

Emely Sanchez, JD, MPH, is a government affairs and public health law & policy professional. Born and raised in Miami, FL, she holds undergraduate degrees in political science and criminal justice from Florida International University. She pursued her Masters in Public Health at the University of Miami, specializing her studies in health policy and research. Throughout her educational career, she had a passion for public service. She interned at multiple offices within DHHS, including CSTLTS and CGH at the CDC, HHS OIG, and at the U.S. Senate HELP Committee. She was a member of Miami Law’s Public Interest Leadership Board and the Bar and Gavel Honor Society. She also re-established the Miami Law Health Law Association. She was an active leader in the American Bar Association’s Health Law Section, where she expanded student membership and currently serves as the Hispanic National Bar Association’s Health & Life Sciences Section’s VP for Policy & Publications. She enjoys growing her expertise through scholarship and producing publications, mentorship, and community engagement. She serves on the Steering Committee of the Society for Health Policy Young Professionals of DC and is an ASLME Expanding Perspectives fellow for 2022-2023. She is currently a federal affairs manager for Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen team, where she continues to advocate for improving healthcare services, health equity, and access to medicine.
