Background

About Emerald Armstrong

Adverse Childhood Experiences brought me to this field of work. While obtaining my Bachelor's Degree from the University of Central Florida, the idea of Psychology called me as I endured my own struggles with mental health. As a current Masters student studying Clinical Psychology, my love for mental health continues. I am currently working as a Child Development Specialist for a non-profit organization called Layla's House. The mission of this organization is to prevent child abuse and neglect. My passions within Psychology are targeted towards youth and adolescents. From my experience, the mental health of our future generation is declining. My long-term goal is to obtain my PsyD and open my own practice that is dedicated to both the mental and physical health of children and adolescents. Psychology has opened up more opportunities to support the mental health of myself and those around me. Learning new skills and mastering the ones I currently possess, I can say that I am excited for the journey this field has ahead for me.
