About Emerald Czegeny

Registered Social Worker with a Master's of Social Work and Bachelor of Applied Science in Adult Development (Gerontology). I have worked with various populations including seniors in the community, individuals with epilepsy, people with PTSD, and children with an autism diagnosis. Passionate about lifelong learning and dedicated to doing ongoing personal and professional development. I follow evidence-based practices, including being trauma-informed. I enjoy person-centered social work and helping clients increase their capacity to meet goals. Skilled at building rapport with clients, facilitating support groups to help build community, providing resources to build clients' toolkits, creating safety and trust, being nonjudgmental, professional, and empathetic. ASIST trained (Jan 2023), CPR-A & AED trained (March 2025) and Pet First Aid trained (July 2022). Completed the Laurier certificate in Death, Dying, and Bereavement (June 2024). Certificate courses taken include the Foundations of Grief, Mindful Self Compassion, Traumatic Bereavement, Secondary Traumatic Stress, Compassion Fatigue and Resilience, Palliative and End of Life Care, Bereavement Support Groups, Supporting Bereaved Parents After Pregnancy Loss or the Death of a Child, and Engaging Individuals in Navigating Medical Assistance in Dying.
