About Emery Levine

My legal practice focuses on entity formation, corporate governance, and general business law. I help clients across the Carolinas navigate a wide range of issues, including mergers, acquisitions, commercial real estate transactions, and private securities offerings. As a member of Maynard Nexsen’s Corporate and Business Transactions team, I form and advise private entities, charitable organizations, corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, and joint ventures. I also hold a General Counsel position on the Corporate, Banking, and Securities section of the South Carolina Bar (2023-2026). Prior to becoming an attorney, I gained extensive experience in a multitude of areas, including immigration and military law, life insurance brokerage, and both Israeli and American congressional affairs. I graduated cum laude from the University of South Carolina School of Law in Columbia, South Carolina. I have also earned a Masters degree in Philosophy and Social Policy from American University in Washington, DC and undergraduate degrees in Philosophy, Asian Studies, and Political Science from Furman University in Greenville, SC. While studying logic and philosophy has taught me how to analyze new ideas and issues from a multitude of different perspectives, my legal background has helped me to develop strong organizational, problem solving, and critical thinking skills. Together, these two areas inform how I collaborate and communicate effectively with my clients, my team, my peers, and my community.
