About Emery Tate

Software Engineer who fell in love with technology at a very young age when I took apart the family computer and was not sure how to put it back together. Then my curiosity grew bigger while playing video games, always wondering what the thought process was to create them. My passion grew even bigger in high school, while in my first engineering class, my instructor gave me the challenge of programming a robot and solving that problem was what hooked me. I was always looking for opportunities to code, and although I wasn’t a natural to start, I never gave up. The best decision I made was to attend Flatiron School immersion program for coding to further my skills. The experience taught me to use my critical thinking skills and operate with a fail fast to fail forward mentality. This is something I could relate to as I tried starting my own business in high school to make money. Now as a software engineer, I’m looking to carry that entrepreneurial spirit forward and continue to grow within a company that is pushing the boundaries. In particular, I’m drawn to businesses that are or operate like Tech Start ups so I could learn how that business is run from the ground up.
