Self-motivated team player with meticulous organizational & multi-tasking skills developed in nonprofit, public, & private cultural sector and event management work experience (including marketing & communications, guest liaison, venue/vendor coordination, onsite staff training, sponsorship, grant, budget and project management, etc.), Proven research, analytical and writing abilities as shown by publication in peer-reviewed scholarly journals, and Adaptability & problem-solving skills gained through international experience collaborating with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. Emi Nishimura is passionate about promoting the international development of arts and artists, as well as encouraging intercultural understanding, creative fusions, and inspiration through the arts. Emi has worked in Japan, the USA, and Canada, and her professional experience include event planning, nonprofit arts management, grant administration, cultural diplomacy, UNESCO project administration, art gallery operation, library operation & PR and translation (Japanese<>English). Emi grew up/was educated in Japan, Germany, Switzerland, and the US, and has traveled to 30 countries. She graduated from the American University in Washington, DC with a Master of Arts in Arts Management and a Graduate Certificate in International Arts Management. She also holds a BA in Liberal Arts (Major: Linguistics) from International Christian University in Tokyo, as well as a Museum Curator Qualification, the certification required to become a museum curator under the Museum Law of Japan.
