About Emiel Coltof

I'm an experienced knowledge management and research professional in international affairs, currently based in Paris. Passionate about analyzing systems change and fostering knowledge exchange in global civil society, I work as a Senior Programme Officer for Knowledge & Learning at Internews, the world's largest media development NGO. In this role, I collaborate with colleagues and partners from over 100 countries, leveraging our collective knowledge to address strategic priorities and emerging areas of expertise in the field of journalism and information. Working at the intersection of human rights, international development and social policy, I hold an MSc in Social Policy and Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science and am a Charityworks Fellow. Together, these qualifications provide me with a solid foundation in non-profit management, civil society movements and social development policy. As a former Senior Research Officer at the international children's rights NGO Lumos, I led and published global advocacy studies on child protection and alternative care, spanning multiple countries. Prior to this, I held various positions in human rights and development-related fields across the UK, India, and the Philippines. Skilled in knowledge management, research and analysis, advocacy, facilitation, project management, writing, and fundraising. Proficient in Dutch, English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and German. Outside of work, I enjoy immersing myself in world cinema, playing the piano, and exploring new destinations marked on my Google Maps.
