A restaurant is not just a place to eat, but a place where people gather to celebrate or to be comforted. Early in my career, I learned the valuable lesson that in good times and in bad, kindness is often served in the form of food and beverages. In all my restaurant management experience, I have carried this philosophy to great success in making my customers and staff feel appreciated and valued. Insuring that standards of quality, service and image are met is a big responsibility, both in the front and back of the house and I have extensive experience in all aspects of the supervision of these objectives. I am highly skilled in: Ensuring that health and safety standards and liquor regulations are obeyed Maintaining budget and employee records and payroll Monitoring food preparation and method Cleaning of kitchen and dining areas to maintain sanitation standards and appropriate records Resolving customer complaints Communication with customers, sales reps and suppliers A business needs to have a culture that will protect the brand and to teaching employees the importance of team building for success. I have extensive experience with recruiting, hiring, conducting orientation sessions, and training for new hires. Planning, developing and providing training and staff development programs, using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops has led to very high employee retention, in my experience. In all aspects of my work and life, my approach boils down to treating others as I would like to be treated. It’s the Golden Rule, and in this business, it’s the number one recipe for success.
