About Emily Allyson

As a Senior Validation Associate at CAF America and manager the Canadian Expedite program I regularly manage and review over 200 organizations in high risk countries, and research international non-profit laws for process improvements and published articles on such research. I have strong experience in proposal review and risk assessment processes, as my specialty at CAF America is review of high risk organizations and countries, specifically in the Middle East. At any time I am working with over 150 organizations and guiding them through every step of the grantmaking process from the application to risk review and then reporting. Graduate of the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University, studying international affairs and Arabic and concentrating in the Middle East and international affairs. Between 2020 and 2021 I worked as a communications intern at Doha Debates, a subgroup of the Qatar Foundation International that seeks to find solutions to important world issues through debates, digital videos, TV series, blogs, and podcasts. Working at Doha Debates my normal day includes press releases, coordinating newsletters that are sent to two thousand subscribers, and using Adobe Photoshop to design marketing posters as well as translating them into Arabic counterparts to be sent out to our audience in the Middle East. Additionally, I perform analytics on press coverage, newsletter response, and international engagement. My activities in my past three years at university include working as the youngest social media manager of any PAC in the country for Friends of Intelligent Democracy, competing at collegiate Model United Nations across the country, and working as the education chair for the Panhellenic Sexual Assault and Awareness Board. Both of these jobs take a lot of attention to detail as well as critical thinking and social skills involving posting on social media and coordinating with university staff and students. Between the years 2014 and 2018, I devoted myself to an internship with the Non-governmental Organization Child Voice International, which works to rehabilitate child mothers affected by the wars in Uganda and South Sudan. At Child Voice, I spent countless hours researching the strengths, weaknesses, and safety of African nations and creating the documents used in refugee camps to regulate the division of food, sanitary supplies and medicine.
