About Emily Benson

I am passionate about organizing and managing systems to find the most efficient and practical solutions to challenges. I embrace thinking outside of the box and enjoy finding novel solutions to difficult problems. I am an enthusiastic individual with strong leadership, communication, and project management abilities honed through industry experience and graduate school training. As a knowledgeable and organized scientist with a strong background in chemistry and food science, I know that it is not enough to only be able to produce great outcomes, as those results are only as useful as your ability to communicate those results to other individuals, especially those with less familiarity of the subject matter. Through my work with the IFT Women's Resource Group, I have been able to create events and spaces where individuals are comfortable being themselves, allowing them to flourish and make meaningful personal connections with other professionals in the food science industry.
