About Emily Bernier

As an International Relations Specialist at, I facilitate student exchange programs between Japan and the US, using my bilingual and bicultural skills to promote cross-cultural understanding and cooperation. I translate JPN-ENG/ENG-JPN documents and conversations, create and deliver presentations and events on American culture and society, and provide guidance and support to students and staff. I developed these skills through my bachelor's degree in Japanese Language and Linguistics from Earlham College, where I also studied abroad in Japan for a year, and through my previous work experience as a Coordinator for International Relations at the JET Program and the Tokushima City Hall. There, I gained valuable experience in consulting, ESL, and international relations, working with diverse groups and connections to foster internationalism and assist English-speaking residents. I am passionate about bridging cultural gaps and enhancing mutual learning and respect.
