About Emily Beuken

My professional journey has been incredible, marked by adaptability, exploration, and continual change. The fusion of a new career in engineering with my background in neuroscience and artificial intelligence is something I never thought would become a reality. It enriches my understanding of both fields, allowing me to approach problem-solving with a unique perspective. In my role as an Automation and Process Control Engineer, I bring a holistic view to the table. I continue to develop models and strategies and KPI improvement, but now with a profound understanding of adapting processes, thanks to my experiences in neuroscience. My work extends beyond theoretical contributions; I actively engage with operators on the shop floor, forging a strong collaboration that bridges the gap between theory and practice. This hands-on approach deepened my appreciation for teamwork and effective communication in achieving success. In this endeavour, I leverage my skills in data analysis and automation to explore complex and multimodal data, regardless of whether the application is for dementia risk assessment or modelling titanium welding. I generate user-friendly visualizations, all while utilizing machine learning and data analysis tools like MATLAB, Python, C, and R. I understand the importance of making complex information accessible to both experts and the general public, a skill that proved invaluable in bridging the gap between technical expertise and real-world applications.
