About Emily Boehm

I first began working with children when I came home from going to school for a year in Sheridan WY. I worked an aide at a preschool then worked my way up to a lead teacher position in the toddler room by completing more college courses through Pueblo Community College. After about 4 years at the preschool, I moved to Las Vegas and worked as a Parent Educator (home visitor) for about a year. I moved back to Canon City in October of 2017 and have been working at Southern Peaks RTC since then. I started as a Youth Development Team Lead and promoted to an Operations Lead where I had more responsibility to train and develop new staff as well as continue to work the floor in the ratio with the children. Most of my experience and education is directed more towards infants and toddlers but working at Southern Peaks has given me experience with adolescent children who have some type of behavioral concerns which have landed them at a treatment facility. All of the children have experienced severe trauma of some sort. As I have learned how to interact with these children, I have grown to love working with them just as much as I enjoy working with infants and toddlers.
